Your Makan (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates Your Makan (the “App”), an application for landlords, property managers, and tenants to manage rentals, maintenance, payments, and communication. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information.
1. Information we collect
Account information: Name, email, phone, role, and login credentials.
Property & tenant data: Property details, tenancy agreements, tenant names and contact details, rent amounts, payment status, maintenance requests, documents and photos uploaded by you.
Payment information: Transaction amounts, timestamps, and status. Card/bank details are processed by our payment provider(s) and are not stored by us.
Device & usage data: IP address, device type, operating system, app version, and usage events (e.g., feature interactions) for security and product improvement.
Support communications: Messages you send to our support team, including metadata needed to investigate issues.
2. How we use information
Provide and maintain the App’s core features (rentals, maintenance, communications, reporting).
Process payments and send invoices, receipts, and reminders.
Facilitate messaging between landlords/agents and tenants.
Improve performance, usability, and security (including fraud prevention and diagnostics).
Send service notifications (e.g., policy changes, outages, critical updates).
Comply with legal or regulatory obligations and enforce our terms.

Where UK/EU data protection law applies, we rely on the following lawful bases:
Contract: To provide the App and related services you request.
Legitimate interests: To secure, maintain, and improve the App, and to prevent abuse, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
Consent: Where required (e.g., certain marketing or optional analytics). You may withdraw consent at any time.
Legal obligation: To comply with laws, regulations, and lawful requests.
4. How we share information
Service providers: Hosting, storage, analytics, payment processing, email/SMS delivery, and customer support tools, under contract and only as needed to provide services.
Legal and safety: If required by law or to protect rights, property, users, or the public.
Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
5. Data security
We employ industry-standard measures such as encryption in transit, access controls, role-based permissions, and secure infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion (see “Your rights & choices”).

Access, correction, deletion: You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccuracies, or deletion, subject to legal limits.
Consent withdrawal: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
Objection & restriction: You may object to or request restriction of certain processing.
Portability: In some cases, you may request your data in a portable format.

The App is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have done so, we will delete it promptly.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., payment gateways). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies; we are not responsible for them.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App and/or on our website and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email where appropriate.
